Watch: Christina Aguilera performs 'Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti' with Alejandro Fernandez

Pop superstar Christina Aguilera is in the middle of The X Tour in Mexico. For the show in Guadalajara tonight, she performed "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti" live for the first time with Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez.

For her string of shows in Mexico this week, the Ecuadorian-American artist has been blowing the dust off of her Latin music catalog and adding some of those canciones to the setlist. During the first show in Monterrey on Tuesday, she performed the songs "Pero Me Acuerdo de Ti," "Falsas Esperanzas," and "Contigo En La Distancia" from her 2000 Spanish-language crossover album Mi Reflejo. It took almost two decades for those songs to re-emerge live. In Guadalajara, she brought her duet partner Fernandez onstage for the first ever performance of "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti."

Fernandez and Aguilera covered "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti" in 2013 for the crooner's Confidencias album and the song later served as the theme for the telenovela La Tempestad. Fernandez performed it a number of times solo without Aguilera. Even though they never sang it live together at that point, the song proved to be a hit, peaking at No. 5 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart. The melodramatic music video has amassed over 407 million views on YouTube.

Prior to tonight's show in Guadalajara, Aguilera followed Fernandez on Instagram, which stoked rumors of their possible performance. During the Latin section of the show, she introduced Fernandez, drawing a rapturous response from the audience. Aguilera left the stage and the spotlight was on Fernandez as he sang the song's intro. When it was time for Aguilera's verse, she re-emerged ready to belt her heart out en español. Their first live performance of "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti" was both glorious and guau.

Aguilera's last show of The X Tour will be in Mexico City on Dec. 7. She has already said that her next album will be the highly-anticipated follow-up to Mi Reflejo due out next year. As I've written in Billboard, and I will write here again: Aguilera should call her next Spanish-language album LatinXtina. Just sayin'.
