Mexican singer-songwriters Siddhartha and Ximena Sariñana premiered the music video for their new single "Respiro" today. The two soundtrack a love story in the cozy clip.
"Respiro," or "Breathe," is the latest single from Siddhartha. The song appears to be the latest chapter in the Memoria Futuro series that he launched in May with an EP of the same name. Last December, he brought out Sariñana as a surprise guest during his Auditorio Nacional concert in Mexico City for a live duet of "Aves del Tiempo."
The two formally collaborate on "Respiro" and it's a match made in Latin pop heaven. Siddhartha's sunny guitar, snappy snare drum, and shimmering synths back him as details the growing pains of romance. Sariñana comes in near the end and reiterates his conflicted feelings in an endearing performance. Siddhartha and Sariñana beautifully complement each other on this sweet breath of fresh air.
The music video for "Respiro" is just as dreamy as the actual song. Siddhartha and Sariñana help a couple break the ice. Their romance blossoms in a field of flowers as both artists sing their collaboration at the dinner table. Like a painting come to life, this clip is gorgeous.
"Respiro" is now available on iTunes and Apple Music. There's no word yet if this will lead to a new installment of the Siddhartha's Memoria Futuro series. Sariñana returned to music last year with the Latin Grammy-nominated ¿Dónde Bailarán Las Niñas? album.
