Mexican pop queens Paulina Rubio and Thalía premiered their new singles on the same day. Both ex-Timbiriche members get their party on. Pau gets down with Mexican DJ Raymix for "Tú y Yo" and Thalis slays with Brazilian superstar Pabllo Vittar in "Tímida."
Ever since Rubio and Thalía left Mexican children's group Timbiriche to become solo stars, the media has constantly pitted the two queens against each other. Both women have left an incredible legacy in Latin music and continue to build upon that with new singles. Rubio gets her electro-cumbia on with Raymix in "Tú y Yo." The two singers trade verses filled with love on this club banger con cariño. Pau and Raymix are a dreamy duo. In the colorful music video, the two have a ball together at the arcade.
Thalía is gearing up to release her sixteenth studio album this year. So far, she previewed the upcoming release with the lead single "Ya Tú Me Conoces" featuring Venezuelan-born brothers Mau y Ricky. This time she teams up with Brazil's biggest drag pop star Vittar for "Tímida." The cover art for the single features the both singers looking fierce in cheetah print. They sing in Spanish and English about not being shy with their sexuality. It's a freaky bedroom romp with two Latina queens unbound.
Rubio's "Tú y Yo" and Thalía's "Tímida" are both available on iTunes and Apple Music. It's Pau's second taste of new music this week following the leak of her cover of "Ni Tú Ni Nadie" with Mexico's reina del rock Alejandra Guzman. In a music scene that's getting stagnant, both pop queens are keeping things fresh and giving us something to move to in this time of self-quarantine.
