Latin pop princess Belinda's fabled music video for "Bailalo" leaked online today. Her scrapped collaboration with DJ Steve Aoki and Puerto Rican duo Zion y Lennox is finally seeing the light of day.
Back in 2017, Belinda was constantly teasing the video for her Aoki collaboration "Bailalo" on social media. The song seemed poised to mark her big comeback to music. She met Aoki through her boyfriend at the time, magician Criss Angel, who went on to direct video for "Bailalo." After Belinda and Angel had a falling out and broke up, the video was supposedly destroyed and the song's release was cancelled.
Disappointed fans can cheer up today with the leak of the "Bailalo" music video. As the teaser photos were showing, it's a post-apocalyptic party with Belinda, Aoki, and Zion y Lennox. There's a bit of magic sprinkled throughout that was most likely the work of Angel. Belinda is a stunner as she leads the group through the desert to good times.
"Bailalo" is a reflection of the times when trop-pop was king of the radio. It's a blend of that and reggaeton with Aoki's EDM edge. Belinda goes with the flow as Zion y Lennox solidify that Caribbean feel. Had this breezy banger been released, it would have definitely been a smash hit for all parties involved, especially Belinda.
